Membership
Faculty & Staff: Faculty & staff may become a member of the Library after getting their Staff identity card provided by the institute.
Students: All the students of MANC on their admission to the institute automatically become a member of the Library. Each student will be issued a valid identity by the institute. After getting the ID card students can use the library service
Students must hold a valid identity card before making use of Library services. All users may be required to produce a valid identity card in the Library and at any time if requested to do so by the librarian or library staff.
Change of mobile numbers and email id must be reported to the Library/administration office without delay
Duplicate ID cum library Card
Loss of the Identity card should be reported to the library as well as the administrative office immediately to prevent its misuse. A duplicate identity card may be issued after verifying the facts by making a written request with a charge of Rs.200/- by the admin department
Circulation Services Loans
Books borrowing privileges for the various categories of users are as follows: -
Books Entitled
Students:-all students of B.Sc (N) and GNM may borrow up to 3 books for 2 weeks
Faculty member: - Faculty members & staff may borrow up to 5 books for the entire session. Borrowed books may be subject to recall any time by the Library
Reference Materials
Reference materials like the current issue of journals, encyclopedias, and special dictionaries are to be used within the Library. However, the faculty member may borrow certain reference materials in case of the urgent requirement for overnight use
General Rules of Circulation
Books loaned to a user are not transferable and remain the responsibility of the user until they are returned to the Library
Books on loan shall be returned by their final due date and time. Fine shall be calculated from the day of the due date
Users are requested to verify the physical condition of the book/document at the time of its borrowing. They will be held responsible for any damage caused thereafter
Books on the loan may be subject to a recall before their due dates by the Librarian. Recalled items shall be returned without delay
Borrowers shall be asked to produce their Identity cum Library cards when borrowing Library books
No books or library materials may be brought out of the Library until the loan has been recorded. Unsanctioned removal of Library materials is regarded as a very serious offense
The normal loan period for books is Two weeks. However, the Library may fix varying loan periods for different types of materials or users as it deems fit
At the end of the year or session, all borrowers must have to settle any overdue loans before they are permitted to borrow again
The Library will attempt to send overdue notices through email/SMS but will not be held responsible for if not deliver, under any circumstances
Fines
The overdue fine levied on students for books is as follows: -
Rs.5/ per day per book and the bound issue of the periodical
Loss & Damage
Borrowers will be held responsible for books out on loan. If the book is lost, an immediate report should be made to the Librarian to enable appropriate action to be taken. The borrower will have to deposit a new book of the same edition with the processing fee of Rs 100/-. If the book is not available in the market or it is out of print then the user has to pay double the cost of the book’s price. If the book is one of a set or series they may be asked to pay for the whole set or series.
Renewal
Books, which have been borrowed, may be renewed if the same is not demanded/reserved by another user. Users may be asked to bring the books to the Library for getting them renewed/re-issued
General Rules
Users are requested not to bring their belongings like bags, umbrellas in the library. Property counter is provided at the entrance of the library to keep their belongings at the risk of its owner. The Library will not accept responsibility for the loss or misplacement of personal belongings.
Consume of food or drink is strictly prohibited in the library
Use of mobile phones and other battery-operated electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited inside the Library.
Pin drop Silence must be observed in the Reading area of the library. The conversation may be avoided to keep a minimum of noise.
Reservation of seats is not allowed in the reading area. Readers are requested not be displace the sitting arrangement
The Librarian has the right to request a user to leave the premises if anyone is found to be violating any of the Library rules.
Users will be asked to leave the library fifteen minutes before closing time and all users must vacate the premises. Users are to vacate the Library at any other time when requested to do so.
All Users are required to produce for inspection all books taken out of the Library and have to make an entry in the Check-Out Register.
Readers found misusing, damaging, stealing Library resources, or violating library rules will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee or Head of the Institution.
